Velvet Calathea (Calathea rufibarba)

Calathea Rufibarba has one of the most unique leaf shapes of the Calathea family. It bears long green leaves and purple undersides. Although not the easiest of plants to grow indoors, once you have worked out the right conditions it will reward you with it’s interesting nature.

Care

LIGHT
Prefers bright indirect light.

WATER
Keep moist over the warmer months but not soggy or waterlogged. Reduce watering in the cooler months and check on soil frequently.

NUTRIENTS
Feed with slow-release fertiliser once every six months (refers to packaging for dosage). In the warmer months, feed fortnightly with a liquid fertiliser.
