Peacock Plant (Calathea orbifolia)

The wide range of patterning and textures in the Calathea genus vary greatly, so you’re sure to find the perfect foliage to layer with in your home. Their vividly patterned leaves are typically oval shaped with strong leaf veining and marking. Peacock plants are best placed on the floor or tabletop. If placed at the right height, you’ll easily see the brightly coloured underside of the leaves.

LIGHT
Prefers bright indirect light.

WATER
Keep moist over the warmer months but not soggy or waterlogged. Reduce watering in the cooler months and check on soil frequently.

NUTRIENTS
Feed with slow-release fertiliser once every six months (refers to packaging for dosage). In the warmer months, feed fortnightly with a liquid fertiliser.
