Elkhorn Fern (Platycerium Bifurcatum)
Native to coastal Queensland and NSW, the elkhorn fern, or Platycerium bifurcatum, is an epiphytic fern with a distinctive and decorative form of growth. It is a bracket epiphyte occurring in and near rainforests. Epiphytes take their moisture from the air, rain and decaying matter around the plant. Given the right conditions they require very little attention and add a tropical and rain-forest feel to homes, shady gardens, water features and patios.
