Frizzle Sizzle (Albuca Spiralis)

Albuca are a genus of bulb plants native to southern Africa and live in arid climates where almost no rain falls in the warmest months. Frizzle Sizzle therefore likes to be dormant in summer with only occasional or no water. In Autumn to Spring they should be watered well and not allowed to dry out to achieve the best growth.

Albuca come from cold climates and will tolerate frosts so do very well outdoors in full sun or partial shade. They can be grown in gardens, indoors they will not develop the short tight corkscrew like leases or flower as well as if grown outside. Plants are fully mature when bulbs are 8cm across at about 2 years of age.

LIGHT
Prefers bright light to filtered light.

WATER
Water regularly throughout the year including winter. Plants can survive long periods without water but will not thrive.

NUTRIENTS
Feed with slow-release fertiliser once every six months (refers to packaging for dosage).In the warmer months, feed monthly with a liquid fertiliser.

IDEAL TEMPERATURE
Cool to warm.
